IFB´S INTERNATIONAL CONSULTANCY PROJECTS:

In 1992, through a mission organized by the European Union, the IFB did a needs assessment of the Hungarian banking system and measured the possibility of implementing a bank training course through distance learning. Later, in 1994-1995, the IFB exercised consulting services to the ITCB (International Training Centre for Bankers) as part of a project on distance education for mid-level bankers.

In 1994 and 1995, the IFB has worked in Estonia in the design, development and implementation of a training course for bank managers, using the methodology of distance learning, working in direct collaboration with the Association of Banks in that country. This involvement became a reality in educational support to the preparation of the syllabus and in overseeing the creation of all the infrastructure necessary to run a distance learning course.

Between 1995 and 2000, the IFB has cooperated with the Banking Institute in Prague, in the development of a training course in the distance to bank managers. The work of the IFB was the pedagogical and technical assistance necessary for the creation of the content of written materials, structure of the bases necessary to support the training program and training of all the local team.
In January 2004, a consortium led by Bank Training Institute won the international tender launched in 2003 by the Ministry of Finance of the Czech Republic and funded by the European Union on the implementation of the project Implementation of EU Payment System Standards. Under this project developed the IFB, the courses and their pedagogical support material (manual and CD-ROM) as well as their own training room.

In this country, collaboration was established primarily through the organization of seminars and workshops, as desired depending on the needs of the recipient banks. Also in Bulgaria is to underline the European Union funded project under the title In-House Training Programme for the Commercial Banks

Cooperation with Poland began in 1993 when the IFB has taken part in an international mission to this country, presenting a paper on distance learning methods applied to the banking community.
IFB's activity related to the increase in bilateral contacts with Poland has been notorious, facilitating and promoting important synergies between the banking sectors of both countries. This cooperation has been achieved by organizing seminars, advisory services and visits by top managers in the financial sector in Poland to Portugal, with the aim of contacting closely with our reality, which is configured as an interesting case study for the countries of Eastern Europe in general and Poland in particular.

In Russia, the IFB has acted as a facilitator in building bridges between our banking sector and Russian. One example was the cooperation protocol signed between the IFB and Moscow Finance Academy, through which new opportunities for tangible cooperation began to be drawn. The Banking Training Institute also played a role in the creation of International Finance and Banking School of Moscow, in 1992.
